Support provided by Glasgow City Council Gov UK UK Government Levelling Up - LOGO ONLY UK Shared Prosperity Fund - LOGO ONLY

What does this involve?

The Tech Event and Meetup Subsidy from Glasgow City Council is available to support tech community events and activities that strengthen Glasgow's technology ecosystem.

The Fund focuses on creating new opportunities and will give priority to projects that:

  • fill gaps in existing support services
  • reach people or groups not currently being supported
  • would not happen without public sector funding
  • will take place within the Glasgow City Council boundary
  • are technology-focused
  • are open to participation from the wider tech community or target a specific tech community audience
  • demonstrate support for start-up, scale-up, founder, investor, talent or tech community development activity
  • include a networking, learning, innovation, investment or collaboration element
  • provide clear value to Glasgow's tech community

The funding is not intended to cover an organisation's normal day-to-day running costs or activities that mainly benefit a single business.

Grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 are available for activity taking place between 1 September 2026 and 31 March 2027.

Funding is available towards eligible project costs only. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of £1,000 of eligible net expenditure in order to claim grant funding. Applications should be submitted at least 4 weeks before the first event takes place.

Am I eligible?

Applications are welcome from:

  • companies and businesses
  • community groups
  • charities and social enterprises
  • universities and colleges
  • industry bodies and membership organisations
  • individual organisers responsible for delivering ecosystem activity

Applicants must:

  • comply with Minimal Financial Assistance (MFA) requirements
  • not be subject to insolvency proceedings, bankruptcy or similar restrictions
  • not be in arrears of non-domestic rates where applicable
  • not be in receipt of other public sector funding being used to support the event being applied for

What does this cost?

The grant will cover up to 100% of the eligible costs of a project. This will be paid in arrears, after the event has taken place, so you'll need to be able to cover the full cost upfront.

All grant awards are based on Net VAT costs. VAT is not an eligible expense and cannot be claimed.

Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of £1,000 of eligible net expenditure in order to claim grant funding.

Who is this for?
