Social media content calendar template

Support provided by Business Gateway

What does this involve?

Social media content that your business produces shouldn’t be posted in an ad hoc fashion. It should be planned, created and scheduled to support a clear digital marketing or content marketing strategy. Posts should be timed to coincide with ‘trigger points’ such as seasonal events or product launches, even if they don’t mention your offer explicitly.
The DigitalBoost social media content calendar template offers an example of how to schedule daily content posted across 4 channels: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.
For each post, the template suggests including:

  • post category – e.g., news, event, campaign
  • post copy – excluding links
  • number of characters – even where there is no limit
  • URL – plus tracking string if using Google Analytics
  • media – screenshot of any image or video to be included
  • promoted budget – if promoting the content on the platform
