This free tool from Business Energy Scotland will help you assess how much your lighting actually costs your organisation. You'll then be able to work out how much your business could save by reducing its energy use.

Unless your buildings have sub metering of lighting or other circuits, it may not be clear how much electricity you use for lighting and how much it costs. Even smart meters will not provide a detailed breakdown of how much electricity is used by different functions.

The tool is available to download as an Excel spreadsheet file (890 KB).

You'll need to record all the light fixtures in your organisation's premises in the tool spreadsheet to get your result. It should take around 15 to 30 minutes to do this, depending on how many light fixtures you have.
