What does this involve?

This programme provides expert help for Edinburgh businesses in the form of workshops and one-to-one support from Business Gateway consultants. It can help you grow your business and trade in domestic and international markets.

There are 2 types of support are offered through the programme: light sessions and consultancy.

Expert Help light sessions

Businesses can speak with a specialist consultant during a short 90-minute session. These sessions are designed to help if there is a specific issue you would like to discuss, or if you'd like to gain knowledge or ideas to help grow your business.

The sessions typically take place online. Topics include social media, digital, PR and marketing, HR and exporting.

Expert Help consultancy

If your business is growing and you feel you could benefit from longer-term specialist support, you can benefit from up to 3 days of consultancy to help realise your growth ambitions.

Specialist advice is available in the areas of digital strategy, marketing and communications strategy, HR consultancy, business strategy and international trade support.

The Expert Help Programme is funded jointly by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and City of Edinburgh Council.

Am I eligible?

Yes, if you are a Scottish-registered company based in the City of Edinburgh Council area.

You'll need to be working with a Business Gateway adviser, who can refer you to the programme if appropriate.

This is a free service.

Scottish-registered businesses based in the City of Edinburgh Council area that are looking to grow their business and trade internationally.

How long does this take?

Expert Help light sessions last for 90 minutes each. Expert Help consultancy sessions take place over 3 days.
