What does this involve?
The Preparing to Export programme for food and drink businesses is designed to help Scottish companies that want to start exporting.
The goal of the programme is to develop a practical export plan that will help your company think strategically as you enter international markets. It also makes sure you get the support you need to put your learning into practice.
The programme includes a mix of online e-learning, workshops and one-to-one sessions with the international trade experts Strategem.
The programme is split into 2 phases delivered over a 6-week period. The first phase focuses on creating an outline strategy, to ensure you have the basics in place to succeed at exporting. The second phase helps you build your own tailored export plan.
Throughout the programme, you'll also learn how to research potential markets and make sure you have the necessary funding and resources to begin exporting.

Yes, if your business:
- is a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME)
- is based in Scotland
- operates in the food and drink industry
- wants to start trading internationally
What does this cost?
This is a free service.

How long does this take?
The programme takes place over a period of 6 weeks. You'll need to attend one session each week. Each session runs from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
