Preparing to export programme

Support provided by Scottish Enterprise Highlands and Islands Enterprise South of Scotland Enterprise

What does this involve?

While it's possible to ‘drift’ into exporting, the way to make a sustained success of selling internationally is first to get an export/international business plan in place. Research your potential markets properly. And make sure that you have the necessary capital to back it up.

This introductory service helps companies prepare for exporting by providing information about market analysis, international finance and support for market entry. Your business will have the opportunity to prepare a practical export plan to help it grow in new markets and get all the support you need to start putting this into practice.

Am I eligible?

Yes, if you’re a business already based in Scotland or plan to set up business here.

What does this cost?

This is a free service in Scotland.

Who is this for?

Anyone considering exporting for the first time.

How long does this take?

The programme involves three workshops which take place over a maximum of three months.
