Milk Round Technology Accelerator

What does this involve?

The Milk Round Technology Accelerator programme offers hands-on technical, engineering and business support to help individuals or small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with technology ideas for the dairy sector that could:

  • improve its efficiency
  • reduce its environmental impact
  • help it to meet net zero targets

The programme will help you develop your concept and fast-track it to demonstration and testing.

This is a competitive programme that runs from January to July, but interested businesses can apply at any time of year.

Participants will receive a tailored support package that includes:

  • up to 15 days hands-on technical and engineering support which can be spread out across the January to July programme period
  • mentorship
  • a carbon emissions impacts assessment
  • access to user insights, research facilities and expertise
  • introductions to partners to help support your business as it grows
  • the opportunity to test and demonstrate your idea in a commercial setting
  • follow-on investment advice
  • a budget of up to £10,000 to procure components and/or access third-party design services and products

Yes, if you are an individual or SME that operates or is based in south or west Scotland or Cumbria and have a technology idea that could improve efficiency in the dairy sector or help to reduce its environmental impact.

This is a free service.

Individuals or businesses operating in Cumbria or south and west Scotland with technology ideas that could improve efficiency in the dairy industry or help to reduce its environmental impact.

How long does this take?

This is a competitive programme that runs from January to July, but interested businesses can apply at any time of year.
