What does this involve?
If you have started a business in the last 12 months or are planning to start a business in the next 3 months, you could be eligible for a Business Gateway Highland start-up grant of £1,000.
All business sectors and commercial types can be considered, including sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and social enterprises.
Business Gateway Highland is delivering the grant on behalf of The Highland Council alongside its usual one-to-one support, local workshops and specialist advice.
Am I eligible?
You are eligible if you:
- are a resident and plan to trade in the Highland Council area
- have started a business in the past 12 months, or are about to start a business in the next 3 months
All business sectors and commercial types can be considered, including sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and social enterprises.
What does this cost?
There is no cost to apply.
Who is this for?
Individuals resident in the Highland Council area who have recently started or are planning to start a business.
How long does this take?
The grant has an online application process. You will need to submit a range of supporting documents and in some instances will also require a business outline or plan - you should allow time to provide this.
Important information
To secure a grant, you must submit all supporting documentation and a business outline.
You will need to provide:
- identification – a valid driving licence or passport
- proof of address- a current utility or council tax bill
- your HMRC Unique Tax Reference (UTR) code
- a business bank account statement or bank statement from an account used solely for business
- a business outline and cashflow
