What does this involve?

Business Energy Scotland offers free energy-saving advice and access to funding for small and medium-sized businesses, charities and social enterprises across Scotland.

Business Energy Advisors use your energy data, site information and industry expertise to identify opportunities to reduce the energy used to heat, light and power your premises, and explore renewable technologies where appropriate.

You'll receive a tailored report outlining recommended measures, potential savings and available funding. Eligible businesses may be able to access loans of up to £100,000 and cashback grants of up to £30,000 through the Scottish Government's SME Loan Scheme.

Business Energy Scotland has identified over £200 million in potential savings for organisations across Scotland, with businesses typically achieving energy savings of around 24%.

Am I eligible?

You are eligible if your business, social enterprise or charity:

  • is based in Scotland
  • has less than 250 employees
  • has a turnover of less than €50 million (approximately £42 million

This is a free service.

How long does this take?

Business Energy Scotland aims to provide you with a detailed report within 8 weeks, although this time can vary depending on advisor capacity.
