What does this involve?
The Fair Work Employer Support Tool has been designed to help employers create new and improved workplace practices. It uses a series of questions and statements to help employers assess and benchmark their workplace practices against the 5 Dimensions of Fair Work (effective voice, security, opportunity, fulfilment, and respect).
The tool will provide guidance and tailored resources based on the results. Employers can repeat the process in order to review their progress and compare them with previous results.
It can also be used to help start a conversation between management and workers.
Fair Work aims to balance the rights and responsibilities of employers and workers. It also hopes to create mutual benefits for individuals, organisations and society, such as:
- increased participation in work
- improved productivity in the workplace
- wider distribution of wealth within local communities
Scottish Enterprise, in conjunction with the Scottish Government, Fair Work Convention and other partners, have developed this toolkit to help employers understand and fully embed Fair Work. It can support your organisation to make changes that will benefit employers and their workers.
This toolkit is accessible from desktop, tablet and mobile. It can help you to progress Fair Work with:
- a quick questionnaire assessment
- personalised feedback, advice and actions
- a graphic report to see your progress
- the ability to compare your progress with previous assessments
- the ability to compare your progress with your peers
Instead of viewing Fair Work as a cost, this toolkit highlights the benefits of job security in terms of retaining talent, improving productivity and profitability, and maximising the potential of your workforce.
