Test and Protect - how this impacts your business

What does this involve?

Test and Protect is Scotland’s test, trace, isolate and support strategy. The aim of this scheme is to stop the spread of coronavirus in the community. Cases of the virus will be detected through testing and then people who have been in close contact with someone who has the virus will be contacted and asked to self-isolate.

Employers will be expected to put policies in place to support employees who have been infected by the virus or have been told to self-isolate.

This guide looks at how to prepare and what actions to take should staff need to self-isolate.

What does this cost?

This is a free service.

Important information

The Protect Scotland app from NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect is a free, mobile phone app, external link which will open in a new window designed to reduce the spread of coronavirus and avoid further lockdowns.

The app will alert you if you have been in close contact with another app user who tests positive for coronavirus. And if you test positive, it can help in determining contacts that you may have otherwise missed while keeping your information private and anonymous.
