The Scottish AI Playbook is a free online guide and resource hub that helps businesses and third sector organisations in Scotland understand and use artificial intelligence (AI) in a responsible and transparent way.

The playbook brings together tools, resources and real-life examples to help businesses with decision making, policy development and the ethical use of AI.

Using the playbook, your business can:

• explore practical steps to start using AI
• access frameworks and checklists for responsible innovation
• read case studies from organisations that are already using AI

You can also share your own experiences with AI to help other organisations.

The playbook is free to use and regularly updated based on community feedback and new developments in AI. It was developed by the Scottish AI Alliance with the support of the Scottish Government.

You are eligible to use this service if your organisation:

• is based in Scotland
• is starting to use or considering using data and AI
• wants to explore AI responsibly

The guide will be useful for organisations of any size, with any level of technical knowledge.

This is a free service.

It takes around 30 to 45 minutes to read the core guidance in the playbook. You can return at any time to browse new resources or share feedback at your own pace.

The playbook is a evolving resource. It is regularly updated with new guidance, case studies and contributions from users and partners across Scotland’s AI ecosystem.
