What does this involve?
The SME Resilience Checklist is a free, downloadable checklist to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) protect their staff, property and operations from the impacts of extreme weather.
The list offers tips on how businesses can build their resilience to climate risks such as flooding, heatwaves, storms, and the resulting supply chain disruption.
The checklist will help your business to:
- plan ahead to protect workers and customers during extreme weather
- improve the resilience of your business premises, whether owned or leased
- increase the resilience of your products and services and identify opportunities for innovation
- future-proof your business processes to reduce disruption due to extreme events
- collaborate with others to increase the climate resilience of your surrounding area
The checklist includes prompts to help you identify new services or ideas based on climate risks and customer needs. It also includes case studies of Scottish businesses that are preparing for climate change and strengthening their resilience.
The guidance was developed for businesses in Scotland, but it may be useful to businesses in any region.
It is available to download as a PDF document (990 KB).
The checklist was developed by the Adaptation Scotland programme, which helps businesses prepare for and adapt to climate change.
