What does this involve?
This free guide offers resources to help organisations in Scotland understand how climate change affects workplaces and what steps they can take to protect their workers and improve their resilience.
The resources include:
- a downloadable handbook that explains climate adaptation from a trade union perspective, including how it relates to fairness for workers (PDF, 6.1 MB)
- a downloadable workbook to help union officers and other workplace reps identify climate risks and take action (PDF, 2.7 MB)
- downloadable checklists for individuals and organisations to help them spot hazards and plan responses (Word, 55 KB)
- recordings of webinars that explain the resources and how they were developed
The guide also includes real-life examples that show how climate impacts are already affecting workplaces like schools, shops, warehouses, care homes and outdoor sites.
The materials were created for union reps, but can be used by any business or organisation. All the resources are freely available online, so they may also be useful to organisations outside Scotland.
The resources were developed by Adaptation Scotland in partnership with Unison and the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC).
