What does this involve?
This project is designed to support Scotland's hydrogen sector by encouraging small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that work in this area to develop new and existing technologies. Companies that work in the manufacture of fuel cells, chemical processes, and energy systems are all eligible.
The support can include:
- expert academic advice on technology and safety
- access to specialised testing equipment, facilities, and expertise
- support for early-stage prototyping to scale up
- identifying and engaging with SMEs that show growth potential
- a collaborative platform for testing and scale-up
- advice on funding
- promotion of the services and facilities offered by the University of St Andrews and University of Strathclyde
- matching SMEs to knowledge and expertise across both the University of St Andrews and University of Strathclyde
- a programme of events and activities
Am I eligible?
You are eligible if you are:
- a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) - that is, with fewer than 250 employees and a turnover of less than £50 million
- registered in Scotland and/or have a Scottish address
The project is available to SMEs in the Lowlands and Uplands of Scotland, but you can specify a region that you are specifically focused on. Services are available Scotland-wide, but with a particular focus on Fife and Tayside.
What does this cost?
This is a free service.
Who is this for?
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Scotland.
How long does this take?
Translating Hydrogen Into Action will provide approximately 3 months of support to an SME, or more depending on the maturity of the company.
The Translating Hydrogen into Action programme is due to finish at the end of June 2023.
