The Growth Assistance Project (GAP) offers grants to West Lothian businesses to help them undertake strategic growth projects.

The GAP funding will support projects that:

• improve business competitiveness
• create high value jobs in a sustainable, inclusive way
• have a total cost of more than £100,000

You're eligible if you are a West Lothian-based business that operates in:

• Construction
• Creative Industries
• Engineering, Design and Manufacturing
• Food & Drink (Manufacturing / Processing)
• Life Sciences (Including Health Technology and MedTech)
• Electronics and Software
• Renewable Energy
• Tourism

Businesses operating outside these sectors may still be eligible where proposed projects demonstrate clear strategic alignment with the Council’s economic priorities.

Projects should typically focus on:

• new product or service development
• new process development
• manufacturing or quality improvements
• development of new business applications
• related HR support and workforce development

It is free to apply for the grant.

Businesses based in West Lothian.

Once your eligibility and suitability have been confirmed, your application can be approved within 10 working days.

Your business should have a business plan for growth when you apply.

A typical grant amount awarded is £45,000.
