Transitional Support Fund for childcare providers

Support provided by Scottish Government

What does this involve?

The Transitional Support Fund will help providers of daytime childcare in the private, voluntary and not-for profit sectors, including out-of-school care providers. It will help meet the extra costs required, such as increased cleaning and adapting spaces to meet coronavirus requirements.

The Fund will provide one-off grants to eligible settings. Grants are from £1,500 to £8,000 depending on the number of children in your care.

The grant is intended to help meet the extra costs such as:

  • increased cleaning
  • buying extra equipment and developing outdoor space, to allow for more outdoor learning
  • making changes to help with social distancing of adults, such as changes to entrance and exit areas and additional signage

Am I eligible?

  • a ‘Private’ or ‘Voluntary or Not For Profit’ service

You will also need to confirm that your setting has already reopened or confirm that your setting will have reopened by Monday 7 September.
