What does this involve?
This fund provides support for individuals already working in Scotland's film and television sectors to access training, mentoring and other professional development activity, both nationally and internationally.
Priority will be given to applicants who:
- work in areas with skills shortages
- are from groups that are under-represented in the screen industries
You can apply for grants of between £250 and £5,000.
The funding can be used to help cover the costs of:
- a structured training programme for relevant creative or technical skills development
- screen-related business skills development (for example, film financing or IP rights)
- participation in talent labs
- mentoring, shadowing and work-based learning
Other types of development activity will be considered, including those which accommodate particular access needs, if they meet the assessment criteria explained in the fund guidance.
Am I eligible?
Yes, if you're an individual who:
- is based in Scotland
- works in the Scottish film and television sector
- has at least 2 to 3 film or television credits in your chosen field
Applications from individuals working in small and growing screen businesses may be considered if there's a strong case for public funding and your employer makes a cash contribution to the budget.
What does this cost?
It is free to apply.
You can apply for grants of between £250 and £5,000. You must cover at least 10% of the cost of your development activity through cash or in-kind contributions from personal or other resources.
Who is this for?
Scotland-based individuals who work in the Scottish film and television sectors.
How long does this take?
You'll receive a decision within 2 weeks of the date Screen Scotland receives your application.
