Scottish Country Sports Tourism Restart Fund

Support provided by Visit Scotland

What does this involve?

This fund isn’t open for applications yet. Applications will open 24 February 2021, with guidance available now.

This fund will provide immediate support to tourism businesses within the country sports sector, the majority of which have to date been ineligible for other funding.

Country sports tourism has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the loss of most visitors from both the UK and international community. Restrictions have resulted in significantly reduced activity for those who have been able to participate in country sports locally. In addition, much of the sector has been unable to furlough staff due to animal welfare obligations, and this has further exacerbated the financial enormity of the situation.

The £1 million fund is being delivered on behalf of the Scottish Government by VisitScotland, with development input from the Scottish Country Sports Tourism Group (SCSTG) and the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC). VisitScotland is the awarding body for this fund.
