Renfrewshire Council Business Resilience Grant

Support provided by Renfrewshire Council

What does this involve?

The Business Resilience Grant can provide up to 50% match funding to help small and medium-sized businesses in Renfrewshire recover and grow. Grants of £1,000 up to £10,000 are available.

The grant can be used for:

  • new equipment and machinery
  • property expansion or improvements
  • exhibiting at a national trade show
  • the costs of developing new products or processes

This grant is for new spend that your business has yet to incur. It can't be used for items already purchased.

Your project must not have started before you apply.

The grant will be paid when the project has been completed and the supplier has been paid. This means that initially you must be able to afford the project’s full cost until you are refunded.

Am I eligible?

You are eligible if your business:

  • is based in Renfrewshire
  • is small to medium-sized, with fewer than 250 employees worldwide
  • operates from commercial premises, for which you have a signed lease, rental or licence agreement
  • is a full-time business
  • has a business bank account
  • is not in any debt to the council
  • is not a retail business (unless it operates in a niche area), community group, not-for-profit organisation, voluntary or charitable organisation

At the time you apply, the business must not be in bankruptcy, liquidation or similar.

This grant is for new spend that your business has yet to incur. It can't be used for items already purchased.

What does this cost?

It is free to apply.

Renfrewshire Council will cover up to 50% of the eligible costs, from £1,000 up to £10,000. Applicants will have to cover the rest of the cost through other sources.

The grant will be paid when the project has been completed and the supplier has been paid. This means that initially you must be able to afford the project’s full cost until you are refunded.

You should not spend money on project-related costs until after you've received a formal decision on your grant application.

Who is this for?

Small to medium-sized businesses in Renfrewshire planning projects that will lead to business sustainability or growth.

How long does this take?

The Business Resilience Grant can be applied for all year round.

It takes around 15 minutes to complete the online application process.

Once your application is received, a member of the council's Business Development team will be in touch to discuss your application. A decision will be made shortly after this discussion.
