Professional fees funding for community projects

Support provided by Highlands and Islands Enterprise

What does this involve?

Funding for specialist advice or legal fees is available to help communities interested in the purchase and management of land and other assets progress their project to the next stage.

Eligible costs include:

  • valuation of the asset or specialist technical support, e.g. specialist survey
  • pre-acquisition legal fees or incorporation fees
  • drafting of management agreements or heads of terms
  • other activities at the discretion of HIE

Am I eligible?

Yes, if you're a geographic community in Scotland which manages, owns, or is working towards ownership of an asset to benefit your community.

What does this cost?

There is no cost to access this, but groups should expect to contribute funding towards the activity if they're able.

Who is this for?

Community organisations involved in the purchase and management of land or other assets.

How long does this take?

Groups need to submit applications at least 6 weeks before the activity starts.
