Local Authority Discretionary Fund

What does this involve?

A £120 million fund will be distributed by local authorities (local councils) across Scotland. It will help with the short-term financial challenges being experienced by businesses.

(The fund was doubled from its original £60 million to £120 million as of 10 February 2021 to allow councils to respond further to local economic pressures.)

Eligibility for this fund is determined by local authorities, please check your local authority website.

What does this cost?

This is a free service.

Who is this for?

This is for businesses in Scotland who have not been eligible for previous business support grants.

If your business is still being adversely impacted by Tier 4 restrictions (and you have not received any support), you are eligible to apply. 

Important information

This fund is managed by local authorities. Funds will be issued at their discretion. They will assess which businesses have not received support until now and are most in need.
