What does this involve?
This fund is now closed. Employ a young person for 6 months to a year through Pathway Apprenticeships to get early access to young talent and develop skills in your business.
Apprenticeships are a proven way for employers to develop talent and gain real business benefits. They can provide you with the skills you need to adapt, sustain and strengthen your business.
Pathway Apprenticeships are delivered by learning providers, such as colleges, in partnership with employers.
Am I eligible?
Pathway Apprenticeships are aimed at young people who are looking for a route into the workplace.
Apprentices should be:
- school leavers up to 18 years old
- unemployed and not receiving benefits
You can host a young apprentice in your business through Pathway Apprenticeships if your business is in a Scottish growth sector. These sectors include (but are not limited to):
- Business
- IT/Digital
- Engineering
- Social Services
- Construction
What does this cost?
Funding will be available to support a new apprentice joining your business. It will be issued through an Apprenticeship Employer Grant.
Who is this for?
Businesses in Scottish growth sectors who are looking to host a young apprentice in their business.
How long does this take?
Pathways Apprenticeships will offer 26 weeks of training. This can be extended for participants who are disabled or care-experienced.
