East Renfrewshire Council's Micro Grants Fund helps small businesses in East Renfrewshire to boost their performance, growth and development.

The fund will support small businesses that turn over between £10,000 and £100,000 a year and trade for at least 20 hours a week. You can apply for one grant a year from the following categories:

Equipment

Grants of up to £500 are available to pay for one piece of equipment, tooling or computer hardware that will help your business grow and develop.

E-commerce (up to £500)

Grants of up to £500 are available to help micro businesses develop their e-commerce activity and trade more effectively through digital selling platforms (excluding Facebook advertising).

Training

Grants of up to £500 are available to help cover the cost of continuing professional development (CPD) or training for key staff at VQ level 3 or above (or the equivalent). The funding is capped at £100 per staff member. For this grant, you'll need to provide 50% match funding. You cannot use the grants to cover mandatory training.

Health and wellbeing

Grants of up to £250 are available to help you develop a health and wellbeing policy for your workforce. You must have at least one full-time equivalent (FTE) employee other than the business owner.

Tried and tested (ideas testing)

Grants of up to £250 are available to help fund ideas testing for products and processes. The outcome must include an options appraisal that provides a rationale for going forward.

Yes, if your business:

• is in East Renfrewshire
• turns over between £10,000 and £100,000 each year
• trades for at least 16 hours each week
• has been trading for at least 3 months

You will need to provide 50% match funding to receive a grant for training.

Small businesses in East Renfrewshire that trade for at least 16 hours a week and have a turnover of between £10,000 and £100,000 a year.

It takes around 30 minutes to complete the online application form, provided you have all your supporting documents ready to upload.

Once your application is received, East Renfrewshire Council will carry out initial compliance checks. A member of their Business Growth team will then be in touch to discuss your application.
