To encourage local young entrepreneurs, East Lothian Investments Ltd has launched an annual Young Entrepreneur Prize. The winner will receive a cash prize of £1,500 for their business. 

To apply for the prize, you must submit a completed application form with supporting documents to East Lothian Investments Ltd. All applications will be reviewed and a winner will be selected by the Board of Directors.

East Lothian Investments Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation that is managed by East Lothian Council employees. The purpose of East Lothian Investments Ltd is to provide small businesses with financial assistance. East Lothian Investments Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

You are eligible if:

• you are aged 16 to 25 years between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2023
• your business's head office and main base of operations is in East Lothian
• you have been trading for at least 3 months
• you have been trading for less than 3 years

This is a free service.

Business owners aged 16 to 25 years who are based in East Lothian.

The deadline to apply is midday on 1 November 2023.

The winner will be announced in December 2023.

You will need to submit the following evidence to support your application:

• a business plan and cash flow
• a CV for each director, owner or partner
• photo identification with proof of age, such as a passport or driving licence
• your bank statements from the last 3 months
• your end of year accounts, if your business has been trading for longer than a year
