What does this involve?
East Dunbartonshire Council’s Business Growth Grant is a discretionary grant for businesses based in the area to help them grow.
The grant will help cover the costs incurred by a business to help it grow in line with a plan prepared with a Business Gateway business adviser.
The maximum grant you can receive is £1,500.
The grant can be used to cover most business expenses, except for ongoing costs such as salary, rent and utilities, and the purchase of motor vehicles. You'll need to apply through the application form provided by your business adviser.
Am I eligible?
You're eligible if you can show that:
- your business is trading from an address in East Dunbartonshire and has been for at least one year
- the owner(s) is/are not employed outwith the business for more than 21 hours a week
- you're not in arrears with East Dunbartonshire Council
- you've attended at least 2 relevant Business Gateway training webinars, as agreed with your business adviser
The grant can be used to pay for most expenses that help meet your growth plan targets. This plan must be put together by the business owner and a Business Gateway East Dunbartonshire business adviser.
The grant cannot be used to cover ongoing costs such as salaries, rent and general overheads, vehicles, or property costs such as fixtures.
What does this cost?
It is free to apply for the Growth Grant. The business advice provided is also free.
You'll need to cover any costs upfront, then submit a claim with evidence of your expenses to receive the grant. The grant will be paid into your business bank account.
Who is this for?
Businesses that have been trading in East Dunbartonshire for at least one year.
How long does this take?
After you meet with your business adviser and attend the 2 Business Gateway webinars, the length of time from application to payment is usually 20 working days.
