What does this involve?
Scottish Enterprise is offering funding for Scottish digital businesses that can provide blockchain-based solutions to specific challenges in the energy and manufacturing industries.
Funding of up to £50,000 is available to help cover salary costs, materials, sub-contract charges and consultancy fees for blockchain-based application projects.
In phase 1 of this funding call, Scottish Enterprise identified businesses in the energy and manufacturing industries with existing challenges in the areas of data sharing, asset tracking or environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and sustainability compliance.
This funding call is now in phase 2. Digital businesses may now apply to provide a solution to one or more of the 6 challenges identified in phase 1. You'll need to submit a separate application for each challenge.
Your application must include, but doesn’t need to be limited to, a blockchain-based solution.
If you're successful, you'll be assigned to work with a business from phase 1. Your project will be assessed on its:
- design
- technical feasibility
- financial feasibility
These assessments will help inform the creation of products and services that can provide a solution to the challenge(s).
The deadline to apply is 31 July 2025.
Am I eligible?
Yes, if your company is:
- a digital business registered or trading in Scotland
- able to support the delivery of a pilot between July 2025 and 31 March 2026
- committed to fair working practices
Your application must include, but doesn’t need to be limited to, a blockchain-based solution.
You'll also need to provide details of any recent funding you've received as minimal financial assistance or de minimis in the current or past 2 financial years. You won't be eligible to receive further funding if it means you'll exceed your minimal financial assistance or de minimis threshold for this period.
You can read full details of the eligibility criteria on the Scottish Enterprise website.

Funding of up to £50,000 is available. You'll need to be able to cover any additional costs or costs not eligible for the funding through other sources.
