Argyll and Bute Council Business Start-Up Grant 2022

What does this involve?

Argyll and Bute Council may be able to provide grant funding to help you start up and establish a new business. Grants of up to £3,000 are available, distributed in up to 3 payments.

Applications should be made through the downloadable form. You will need identify the items that you require grant support for and justify your need for a grant. You will also be asked to provide information about your business and a 12-month cash flow forecast.

The fund will close to new applicants on 31 December 2022, or sooner if funds are fully committed. Grants will be awarded on a first come first served basis until all funds are allocated.

There is no cost to apply for the grant. No match funding is required.

How long does this take?

After you submit your completed application form and any supporting documents, you must meet (by phone or video) with a business adviser from Argyll and Bute Council's Business Gateway to discuss your application. You should receive a decision on your application within 10 working days of meeting with the adviser.

The grant is paid out in 3 instalments over 6 months.

Important information

The fund will close to new applicants on 31 December 2022, or sooner if funds are fully committed. Grants will be awarded on a first come first served basis until all funds are allocated.

Grants of up to £3,000 are available, paid out in 3 instalments. If your application is approved, you will be paid a first instalment of up to £1,000, based on the value of your approved costs.

3 months after your first grant payment, you must submit evidence that your business has started actively trading. If your evidence is acceptable, you will receive a second payment of up to £1,000, based on the value of your approved costs.

3 months after your second payment, you must submit evidence that your business continues to actively trade and provide evidence of how you spent your first 2 grant payment. If this evidence is acceptable, you will receive the third and final payment of up to £1,000, based on the value of your approved costs.
