What does this involve?
The Scottish Government plans to maximise apprenticeship opportunities in the coming months. The Apprenticeship Employer Grant can help you take on a Modern or Graduate Apprentice within your business. It can also be used to develop the skills of an existing employee.
Funding will be available for apprenticeships that start on or after 1st December 2020.
Funding will be available for starts until 25th March 2021 or until funding levels are exceeded, whichever comes first.
The Apprenticeship Employer Grant funds are:
- £5,000 for businesses who take on a 16 to 24-year old apprentice, and for those aged up to 29 years who are either disabled, care leavers or Black and Minority Ethnic (BME)
- £3,500 for businesses who take on an apprentice aged 25 or over
Am I eligible?
Funding will be available for apprenticeships that start on or after 1st December 2020.
More information and application details on the Apprenticeship Employer Grant will be made available from Skills Development Scotland from early January 2021.
