What does this involve?

The Scottish Government’s Advisory Sub-Group on Education and Children’s Issues has published advice as children and young people in Scotland prepare to return to school in August 2021.

The document explains the mitigations that must be in place to protect students, staff and other age groups from coronavirus (COVID-19).

The advice covers:

  • key messages
  • the current pandemic situation in Scotland
  • staff safety and wellbeing
  • the risk of long COVID
  • self-isolation and testing
  • mitigations such as physical distancing and face coverings

Staff in schools and early learning and childcare (ELC) settings in Scotland, and parents of children and young people who will return to these settings in August 2021.
