Support provided by Scottish Enterprise
What does this involve?
Scottish Enterprise has developed a range of useful guidance and advice for businesses to help them understand how they can improve their environmental performance, reduce their operational emissions and become more sustainable. Support can take the form of online guides or access to expert advice.
Support is available to help companies:
- understand the concept of net zero
- review their environmental impact
- calculate their organisational carbon footprint
- develop a sustainability or net zero strategy
- make the business case for investment in low carbon technology
Am I eligible?
Any business can access the online guides.
For direct support from a specialist, you are eligible if your business:
- is a registered company with Companies House
- is registered or trading in the Scottish Enterprise area (Aberdeen City and Shire, East of Scotland, Tayside and West of Scotland)
Companies in the following sectors are not eligible:
- gambling
- adult entertainment
- tobacco
- locally traded services (these are businesses whose trade is limited to a local area, and whose direct competitors are other local businesses)
- any activity that could have a negative impact on human rights
- any activities that could have a negative impact on Scottish Enterprise’s reputation or ethical standards
What does this cost?
This is a free service.
Who is this for?
The online guides are available to all businesses.
Direct one-to-one support is only available to businesses based in the Scottish Enterprise area (Aberdeen City and Shire, East of Scotland, Tayside and West of Scotland).
How long does this take?
The online guides should take around 5 minutes each to read. The time required for other support will vary on a case-by-case basis.
