Managing and optimising your Google My Business profile

What does this involve?

Business Gateway's DigitalBoost programme have produced some guidance on managing and optimising your Google My Business profile to ensure you are getting the most out of it and providing a strong user experience for visitors.

In many instances, Google My Business is replacing the need for people to go to your website homepage. Your customers can increasingly find all of the information they need about your business from the search results without clicking onto your site. Furthermore, during COVID-19, many businesses turned to Google My Business to keep customers up to date.

This means that it's more important than ever to ensure your profile is correctly written to accurately reflect your business, as this could be the first interaction people have with your business.

Topics discussed include:

  • the importance of optimising your profile
  • creating posts
  • messaging
  • reviews
  • using additional features
  • continually improving your profile
