EXTEND programme for aerospace rail and renewables sectors

Support provided by Scottish Enterprise ERDF

What does this involve?

This project aims to help the aerospace, rail and renewables sectors move to net zero carbon emissions.

It is designed to address the challenges around the lifecycle of products and components and how these items can be recovered and reused in the sector.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will receive support through events, projects and individual contact. The support can include:

  • helping SMEs to understand their current capabilities, capacity and management
  • identifying opportunities for collaboration with other parts of the supply chain
  • matching SMEs to companies that make and provide the equipment
  • training and up-skilling
  • access to design and manufacturing equipment for demonstration, testing and training purposes

Am I eligible?

You are eligible if you are:

  • a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) - that is, with fewer than 250 employees and a turnover of less than £50 million
  • registered in Scotland and/or have a Scottish address

The project is available to SMEs in the Lowlands and Uplands of Scotland, but you can specify a region you are focusing on. Services are available Scotland-wide, but with a particular focus on East and South Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire and Glasgow.

What does this cost?

This is a free service.

Who is this for?

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Scotland.

How long does this take?

The EXTEND project is due to finish at the end of June 2023.
