Space data for industry innovation challenge - Denmark

Support provided by Scottish Enterprise

What does this involve?

Scottish Enterprise is offering funding for Scottish space technology businesses to develop projects that encourage the commercial use of space data in the Danish financial services sector.

Funding of up to £30,000 is available to help cover the costs of progressing space data solutions from initial concept to market-ready applications.

Your project should show innovation in its use of space data and the potential to have commercial impact.

The lead applicant for your project must be based in Scotland, and will need to apply with a partner based anywhere in Denmark.

Am I eligible?

Yes, if your company:

  • is a registered technology company based in Scotland
  • can apply with a partner or customer based in Denmark that's already committed to the project
  • is committed to fair working practices

Your project:

  • should be a research and development project
  • must make use of satellite data
  • must use the satellite data to develop and commercialise an innovative solution for the Danish financial services industry
  • must present a commercial case for future development and demonstration projects
  • should show economic benefits for Scotland
  • may combine its satellite data with other datasets
  • must be largely carried out in Scotland

Ideally, your solution should apply to the financial services or insurance sectors, but projects in other areas may be considered.

You'll also need to provide details of any recent funding you've received as minimal financial assistance or de minimis in the current or past 2 financial years. You will not be eligible to receive further funding if it means you would exceed your minimal financial assistance or de minimis threshold for this period.

You can read full details of the eligibility criteria on the Scottish Enterprise website.

What does this cost?

Grants of up to £30,000 are available. You'll need to cover any additional costs through other sources.
