Inverclyde Council offers interest-free loans of between £5,000 and £25,000, repayable over 5 years, to businesses that trade in the area. The loans can be used to promote the sustainability, development or growth of the business.

An initial review will be carried out by a Business Gateway business adviser based in Inverclyde. If your project is suitable, you'll be referred to DSL Business Finance Ltd. They'll send you a full application form and a list of the necessary supporting documentation.

You are eligible if:

• your business is trading from an address in Inverclyde
• your business has been trading for at least 6 months
• your business operates in a sector where there is unlikely to be a significant impact on other local businesses
• you have attended a one-to-one meeting with a business adviser from Business Gateway Inverclyde

You are not eligible if:

• your business is involved in betting or gambling
• you are operating licensed premises where the primary activity is the sale of alcoholic beverages
• you plan to use the funds for the purchase of property for resale
• you plan to use the grant as a substitute for your own funds, or where commercial funding is available
• the funds will be used for a loan to purchase personal vehicles
