What does this involve?
Businesses can benefit from a range of support through Glasgow City Council's business voucher programme, which provides access to specialist consultants.
Eligible businesses will be able to use the vouchers to access one-to-one support with consultants on the topics that best suit their needs. The length of time each business will be given with the consultants will depend on the outcome of the application process. The consultancy must be used within a 12 month period.
Available support topics include:
- business structuring
- business growth
- leadership, skills and resources
- business financial management
- design thinking and innovation
- sales and marketing
- internationalisation
- digital development and innovation
- green business support
This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Am I eligible?
To be eligible for this programme, you should:
- be a community interest company, limited company, limited liability partnership, public limited company, sole trader or legally constituted third sector organisation
- employ less than 250 employees
- operate within the Glasgow City Council boundaries and, if in a business premises, must be registered with the council's non-domestic rates office
- not have exceeded the minimal financial assistance threshold of £315,000 over the current and past 2 financial years
- not be engaged in any activities such as gambling or other industries that could be deemed unethical
The following sectors are unlikely to be eligible for support:
- retail, leisure and the service sector - restaurants, shops and hotels
- sale of motor vehicles – car showrooms and sales forecourt
- real estate or speculative property development – estate agent, letting agent
- professional services – solicitor, accountant, consultant, doctors and dentists
- social and personal services - sanitation, recreational, artistic, cultural and sporting activities, close contact services
- locally traded services - businesses whose trade is limited to a local area, and whose direct competitors are other local businesses
What does this cost?
There is no upfront cost to businesses and no financial contribution required.

How long does this take?
After you complete the online Business Growth enquiry form, Glasgow City Council will contact you within 10 working days.
