What does this involve?
Highlands and Island Enterprise (HIE) provides specialist advice and support for all Scottish EDGE applicants from the Highlands and Islands.
Scottish EDGE is a funding competition that identifies and supports innovative entrepreneurial talent from Scotland with high-growth potential.
Specialist advice is available to organisations in the HIE region at all stages of the competition. It is free of charge. The support will help you understand the eligibility criteria, decide if an application is right for your organisation and select a category to enter.
An advisor can offer tailored support for your application, including guidance on the 3-minute video that is a requirement of the application process.
As applicants progress through the later stages of the competition, HIE can provide advice and coaching on pitching your business to help you present to the panel of judges.
Applicants must meet the deadlines and eligibility criteria set by Scottish EDGE.
Am I eligible?
Yes, if you're a business or social enterprise based in the Highlands and Islands that is considering applying for funding through Scottish EDGE.
Applicants should have been trading for less than 5 years.

What does this cost?
This is a free service.
Who is this for?
Businesses and social enterprises based in the Highlands and Islands that are considering applying to Scottish EDGE.
How long does this take?
Specialist advice is available during each round of the funding competition, which can take 3 to 4 months to complete.
At the application stage, you'll receive around 2 to 3 hours of support over 2 to 4 weeks - this will vary slightly for each applicant. This includes help with the production of a 3-minute video for the application (most people simply use their mobile phones to film this).
If you progress to the later stages, then more time will be devoted to help you get pitch-ready.
