Coronavirus guidance for sport coaches

What does this involve?

sportscotland, the national agency for sport in Scotland, has published guidance for coaches to help them manage a safe return to sports and physical activity during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The guidance includes general information on things to consider before resuming coaching activities, as well as hygiene and safety measures that should be put in place to protect participants and staff.

It also includes a 4-stage checklist for coaches that can be downloaded as a PDF file (332 KB). You can also watch a 42-minute video presentation outlining this guidance.

There are also various downloadable templates that coaches may wish to use as part of their risk assessment and planning, as well as information on education in sport and links to other relevant resources and guidance.

The documents are presented in various formats, with a mix of PDF, Word and Excel files and webpages.

The guidance is relevant for coaches, clubs, facility operators and others involved in the delivery of sports and physical activity, to help them offer these activities safely.
