What does this involve?

Companies in Scotland can get up to 3 days of free consultancy support with an industry expert to help them move into the clean heat sector. This service is available for companies of different sizes and types, in various sectors, that are looking to grow and diversify into this market.

During the consultancy sessions, a consultant will:

  • discuss your company's current operations
  • create a report specific to your needs
  • refer you to projects that may be relevant
  • provide industry contacts
  • highlight specific areas your company could focus on and action

To be eligible, companies must:

  • have an interest, or already be operating, in the clean heat market
  • plan to create new products or services or adapt existing products and services
  • intend to increase their employee numbers in Scotland

Companies will also be evaluated on their:

  • potential for job creation or safeguarding
  • turnover
  • national or global competitiveness
  • impact on local supply chains
  • fair work first principles
  • transition to net zero plans
  • alignment to Scottish Enterprise's strategic goals

You cannot apply for support to provide products or services that are specific to associated renewable energy technologies such as wind, solar and hydropower.

Non-technical business services looking to expand into to the clean heat market are not eligible. This includes legal and accountancy services.
