What is a complaint?

If you are unhappy with something on the site or with the service you have received, you can make a complaint. A complaint could be about:

  • the quality and standard of service of FindBusinessSupport.gov.scot
  • treatment by, or attitude of, a member of staff
  • technical or accessibility issues

What happens when I make a complaint?

If you complain about a partner’s service:

  • we will contact the partner and they will deal with the complaint in line with their complaints policy

If you complain about FindBusinessSupport.gov.scot:

  • we will respond as soon as possible, so we can resolve your complaint quickly

How to lodge a complaint

You can make a complaint by phone, in writing, email or use our enquiry form.

When complaining, tell us:

  • as much as you can about the complaint

If you are not happy with our response

If you're not happy with our response, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Getting help

We understand you may be unable or reluctant to make a complaint yourself. We accept complaints from the representative of a person who is unhappy with our service. We can take complaints from a friend, relative or an advocate, if you have given them your consent to complain for you.
